Bosworth Properties have supported circus production company ‘Circus Starr’ in order to enable 5 local children with additional needs or in difficult circumstances to attend a circus performance alongside their families.
Who are Circus Starr?
Circus Starr is a non-profit organisation who recognise that attending mainstream events can be tough for children with additional needs or families in difficult circumstances. To help with this they provide a fun and creative circus shows across the UK.
The harsh reality is that nearly 1.5 million UK families can’t afford a single day out together, and 50% of families with disabled children say that the stigma and discrimination they face makes them feel isolated.
Circus Starr aims to create a magical world, harnessing the power of the circus and invite families with all kinds of different needs to have fun together in a safe, welcoming and unique atmosphere in which shouting out, dancing and jumping up and down are expected!
This provides the opportunity for many disabled and vulnerable children to experience all the fun of the circus to children and families that may have found this difficult in the past.
To support the children with their visit to the circus, we have also provided each child a sensory pack which they will receive prior to the circus experience. This helps to prepare the for the sensory changes they could experience during their visit.
The children who are new to the spectacle of live performance or struggle to sit and concentrate, this friendly and relaxed circus show is funded by donations from charities and local businesses.
How did the kids get on?
Each performance will delight with fabulous dancers and a fantastic array of circus talent and dancers, including a Ringmaster, Illusionists, hilarious Clowns, Contortionists, Limbo Dancers and much more!
Five year old Isaac has visited Circus Starr for the past two years – and he always has the best time! Isaac has autism, hypotonia (which affects his muscles) and really struggles with anxiety, so he doesn’t cope very well with new experiences. His Mum, Claire, got in touch with Circus Starr to tell them how much of a positive impact their visit had on their family.
“Because of your show I got to see this huge smile and hear roars of laughter coming from my son. Sometimes I forget the sound of his laughter, so this made me cry happy tears. I have never seen him laugh and cheer the way he did”.

At Bosworth Properties, we feel passionately about giving back to the local community, and supporting local charities and organisations wherever we can, if even just in small ways.
