When moving out of your flat, it is important to ensure that you leave the property to a high standard to avoid charges when you leave. We have compiled our top tips to help you avoid damage costs!
1. Remove Your Rubbish
When you leave, make sure you do not leave any rubbish or unwanted possessions
in your flat. Rubbish removal is charged at £10 per bag, which can be easily avoided
by leaving your rubbish in the bins.
2. Keep that oven clean
Oven cleaning kits can be purchased for around £5 from household shops such as
Wilko. They are simple to use and keep your oven gleaming. An oven clean can cost
up to £40 if it left in a particularly bad state, so doing it yourself can save you
unnecessary costs! Same goes for your hob and extractor, these can be cleaned
with some good old Cif cleaner to keep them sparking.
3. Do your Hoovering
Grab a Henry and give your flat a good vac! Don’t forget places like your sofa and
around your bed, as these really do pick up a lot of dust. If your flat does not have a hoover provided, we have hoovers that can be borrowed from the Bosworth Properties office.
4. Get your Fridge sparkling!
Remove all of the food from your fridge and freezer and give the inside a good clean. Make sure you de-frost your freezer too if it is very icy. Make sure you leave this switched on and the doors shut when you leave.
5. Beautiful Bathrooms
Bathroom cleaning can be quite a chore, but you can make this easy with the right
products. Grab some shower cleaner, Flash bathroom cleaner and some Viakal for
limescale. Leave them fresh and sparkling clean to make sure you save yourself up
to £30 for a dirty bathroom clean!
6. Checking Out
Now your flat is inspection ready, its time to check out and hand back your keys.
Please make sure you turn off your heating and shut all the windows. Ensure your
keys are clearly labelled and pop them into an envelope with your name and flat
number and hand them back to us by 30 th June!
